Peter, Do you Love me?
How many times have you heard someone say: I Love Icecream….I love my husband, I love Jesus! But the word we use for Love can get really mixed up. Peter had seen the empty tomb and yet, instead of taking a leadership role, for which Jesus had prepared him for, he decided, Yeah, Jesus is Alive and keeps popping up here and there, but I want to go fishing!
This Sunday we will all gather together by FM Radio in the Parking Lot and listen to the words of Jesus as he probed the heart of Peter, will probe our hearts as well!
This past Sunday was wonderful, and I want to take a moment and give a shout out to Mark Coduto, who is the reason we were able to worship as a Church on Easter. Mark took time to meet me Saturday prior to Easter along with Leroy Cunningham and we set up a Parking Lot service with Mark's personal sound system! We will be eternally thankful for all their help. Now we are moving forward to FM radio this past week with the help of Dan Bell, I was able to use 87.9 on every radio in the parking lot!
Dr. Tim Key came and worshiped with us Sunday, and he said something before his prayer that has stayed with me, that God has allowed these troubled times so that we as a church will Think outside of the Box! If you had told me I would be preaching to a parking lot or using a FM radio Transmitter even three months ago, I would have laughed and thought, yeah right! But God has shown me that our Church is stronger than a building, comfortable pews, projections, lights, and sound systems, our Church is made up of the People of God!
We are so blessed to be able to continue to worship God in a new way! This will soon pass, but I doubt many of you will ever forget the gift of Easter, during a thunder storm! Or forget using your radio and your Horn to worship God! I think we woke up the neighbors!
We will continue to worship this Wednesday at 6pm, the Gospel of Mark Bible Study and prayer time and we will turn to John 21 this Sunday at 10:30am as we see Peter being asked a question that God is asking each of us!
I Love you all,
Pastor Mark
