Sunday is Coming!
The Disciples were demoralized, frightened and in despair as the events of the Crucifixion happened like a nightmare from which they could not wake up. Nobody had any joy, and every time a door knock happened, everyone jumped expecting the other shoe to drop and Soldiers to bust in for Arrest! Little did they know, Jesus was not Dead! Jesus was busy first going to Hell and busting down the gates of Hell and preaching to the souls held captive in Paradise and allowing them to finally, once and for all, have access to almighty God in Heaven! The Disciples heard the creepy stories of the old saints resurrecting in the Eastern Cemetery, and this only added to the Gloom and depression...but Sunday was coming! The Events of Easter Sunday Morning were so incredible that even with 4 gospels to read, it is hard for us to take it all in, but one thing I do want you to do is to look in the Tomb and tell me what you see?
This Sunday will give you a message like you have never heard before:
Text: Mark 16:1-6
16 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
Introduction:
We gather today with Churches all across Planet Earth to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus!
Jesus is Alive!
But when Jesus arose, the women who came first to the Tomb looked inside and saw Different things:
In Matthew they see an angel Rolling the Stone away but it does not show them inside
In Mark, they peek inside and see One Angel
In Luke, when they went inside, they saw two Angels
In John, Peter and John only see the grave clothes, then Mary sees two Angels inside.
Why are all these accounts different? Because I believe that each of us will see in the tomb what God reveals to us according to the condition of our hearts! All of these accounts are true, but different, so I want to ask you today: What do you see in the Tomb?
Palm Sunday was marvelous with glorious singing and I want to thank Dan Bell, Tom Branson and especially Rob Bowen for making this old voice sound Good! Hope to you see you with friends in the pew and remember: Sunday is Coming!
I Love and Pray for you all daily!
