What is your Place in the Universe?
Psalm 8
8 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
Let us Pray
Have you ever heard a small Child sing, Jesus Loves Me? One of the greatest revelations as we study the Bible is that no matter how big or small, how young or how old you are, one the greatest weapons against the enemy of God is Praise, but that praise is worthless unless you know your place in the Universe created by God! This Psalm says in the original manuscript:
8 To the Overseer, `On the Gittith.' A Psalm of David.
The Gittith was an instrument that David acquired when he lived with the Philistines. Some say it was a flute or lute type instrument, some say it was a guitar of sorts, but we will never know except that obviously David wrote this Psalm while in exile from his own Country, his life being sought by King Saul! David could sing: Oh Lord our Lord how Excellent, How Honorable, How Majestic is thy Name in all the Earth. This Morning as we learn that God uses Praise as a weapon, but only when we praise Him knowing who we are and exactly what is our Place in the Universe created by God! Join us This Sunday and learn your place in God's Universe and where God's says your place can be! Then and only then can you truly Praise God in the manner He intended!
